MessageBox(Minecraft Launcher): Couldn't load launcher core from /home//.minecraft/launcher/liblauncher.so: LoadErrorNotPresent When I try launching it through Terminal using command minecraft-launcher, I get a response of: Like everyone else (note this isn't the only thread I found), when I click on the launcher, it appears on my shelf with superimposed spinning, but it doesn't open a window any more. As things worked one day and then not the next on two different Linux partitions (and apparently to others), I'm confident we didn't change anything to cause this. version file, and your launcher should open. Delete the launcher.dll file, give it a minute, then ctrl + Z to restore the file. I installed Linux and got Minecraft working first on my profile and then on my son's just a couple days ago (on a Lenovo Flex 5 with an Intel Core i3 processor), and yesterday it stopped working just hours after buying my son a license. Fix: Go to the folder it specifies in the error (Appdata\local\packages\microsoft.42 \localCache\Local\game.
